For the past year I have had a plastic soldier action figure protecting the the two wooden turtles and pineapple magnet on my work station. I'm thinking it's time the soldier retires but what what can replace such classic American nostalgia?

Luckily for me the Archie McPhee catalog came in the mail today! So, I was thinking maybe the lunch lady action figure:



Or one of the Horrified B Movie Victims?




Too many choices.

I learned these things today about groups of birds:

1. An unkindness of ravens
2. A paddling of ducks (in the water)
3. A raft of ducks (in the air.. or at the bar.. or in the grocery store I presume)
4. A deceit of lapwings (what the hell is a lapwig?)
5. A tidings of magpies
