For those of you who don't live here, the weather has been really strange all week. It hails for ten minutes, snows for ten minutes, rains for ten minutes and the sun comes out for ten minutes. Last night we had a short thunderstorm.
On Friday before work Ian went outside without chains or MRE's and stood in the "blizzard". I was concerned about his safety so I took this picture instead.

I wandered around downtown Vancouver last Sunday and took a few pictures. This is building hosts an architectural firm. I think it should be an art museum but they never listen to me.

Last week Phil protected the statements from terrorists. We think he wanted to be stamped and mailed.

We had some exciting backyard critters make an appearance today. Three opossums came out of hiding and wandered around our backyard and then went back to their respective trees and fences. I took pictures of two of them.

We were driving home tonight after a beer tasting and I made Ian pull over so I could take this picture.

I had the joy of spending four hours at the world's most boring boat show today. Of course I always volunteer to sit at the both on the first (and most boring) day but it beats having to do actual real work.
This was my view for those exciting hours.

Certain in-laws have been mumbling into their California Cabernet's that I haven't posted any Pics O' The Day lately. It's true. I haven't. But if I did, it would mostly be my desk at work, company cat, another company cat, a goose, maybe a boat if you're good, another pic of the company cat. Pretty boring. But today when I got home the first flower of the year was blooming in my neighbor's yard so I snapped a picture before it could get away.

I've been slacking at taking pictures lately so I went into the backyard and took a few pictures of the budding trees and plants. Enjoy!

This is what happens when you are a clothes horse like me. Eventually the closet protests.

I went for a walk today during my lunch hour to take in the sun. I brought my camera because there's always something interesting to photograph while I'm walking. Today reminded me that the dark won't last forever and the light will return.
I don't care for geese (because they poop, hiss, and poop) but it was nice to see them eating on the lawn. This goose let me take it's picture.

These boats aren't in our marina but the setting reminded me of summer and made me happy.

Yesterday I e-mailed my mom (who lives in NoDak) and said it was wrong for it get down to 28 degrees at night here. She wrote back and agreed. When I woke up this morning it was foggy and there was a little bit of snow on the ground. I took this picture on the way to work. Don't worry, I wasn't moving.

Some day I'll have a tripod and I'll be able to take long exposure pictures. Until then, you get some blur.

The bathroom walls at Mash Tun are made of chalkboard and they provide little plastic bins of chalk so you can scribble your prose or angst-ridden thoughts on the walls. There's always an interesting conversation going on but this comment made me laugh so I had to take a picture.
This picture is for my mom.

Pic O' The Day January 4
On Friday we had about an hour of sun in between storms. Everyone at work commented on how warm it was and I sat in the sun while I ate lunch. I took a break and wandered around outside and took a picture of this tree.

When I was college my TV professors used to say that children and animals made the best pictures. I couldn't agree more. This is Company Cat #2, Phil. He hung out on the ledge near the ceiling today and drove me nuts.

Obviously I did not go to the ocean today but I could have used a trip. Today was busy at work and I felt like I was barely keeping my head above water. The good part, though, was coming home and deciding I didn't want to cook. So we had carry out Indian food. YAY!
Here's a picture I took last summer at the ocean.

Ian and I went to IKEA today and used a few of our gift certificates. We took Marine Drive home and I made Ian pull over so I could take a picture of the storm coming in. Shortly after the picture it started hailing and then sleeting. I forgot to put MRE's and chains in the trunk.

Pic O' The Day December 25
It wasn't exactly a white xmas since the snow melted but it was pretty. I took this from the back porch of a friend's house.

I hope you're all having a joyous day. In honor of the holiday season, here's a picture of Ian with his military voodoo doll. Notice the turtle on his shoulder and the Santa sitting behind him.
