A Picture Heard Around The World

  • Apr. 12th, 2007 at 10:36 AM
Cheshire cat
The picture I took of the yellow ribbon on the gas tank is currently making the rounds. I e-mailed it to my co-worker who in turn mailed it to just about everyone on his mailing list. It is currently in the mailbox of his niece-in-law whose husband is on his 3rd tour of Iraq and was just told he gets to stay longer. She's sent it to everyone. It was also sent to a friend of my co-worker who works for the VA. She just wrote and said it's currently making it's way around the VA.

I should be charging.

I love it!

Before you know it, it will come back to one of us as a chain letter, to whom we have to send to 20 friends to make them smile or we will lose all our hair.

Or better yet, Snopes.com. "Is this a real picture?"

Or worse yet, FOX. "Why did they take this picture? Why do you hate America? Cut her mike! CUT HER MIKE!!!!"

You won't lose your hair.. you'll just get AIDS from an infected needle in a pay phone bathroom.

I'd love to make it on Snopes!

Is A4269 affected by the 3-month extension?

On this Friday the 13th...
...I realized I'm down 24 days till I leave here. Sure it'll be 2 days in Kuwait and anywhere from 3-5 at Fort Carson, but come the 16th, I'll only have 3 weeks to go or 2 more French Bazaars and one last Big Bazaar. Woot!

It was a good shot. You were in the right place at the right time to capture something that resonates with a lot of people. A muse must have been whispering in your ear.

Thanks! I had to pretend I was taking pictures of the trees and some of the buildings because people were staring. :)
